Template — review before relying on it. This document is a starting template written for VPN Prox. Have it checked against the laws that apply to VPN Prox and your customers, then remove this notice.
1. Who we are
VPN Prox (the “app” and “service”) and the website vpnprox.com are operated by VPN Prox (“we”, “us”). For privacy questions contact support@vpnprox.com.
2. Short version
- We do not log the websites you visit, the apps you use, your DNS queries or the content of your traffic.
- The app does not ask for your name, email or phone number. It identifies itself with a random device ID.
- We keep a small amount of technical data so the service works and so we can stop abuse — listed below.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects data under Google’s own policies.
3. What the app and our servers store
| Data | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Random device ID created by the app | To recognise your install, apply your plan and limit abuse | While the app is in use, then deleted after [12] months of inactivity |
| Number of connections | Capacity planning and abuse prevention | As above |
| IP address you connected from, at the time of your most recent connection (only the latest one is kept) | Abuse prevention and troubleshooting | Overwritten at each new connection |
| Premium key status (key, plan, expiry date) | To give Premium users their features | While the key is valid, plus the period required for accounting |
| Your WireGuard public key and the tunnel address assigned to it, on the VPN server | Needed by the protocol to route your connection | Removed automatically after 7 days without traffic |
We do not store the websites or services you reach through the VPN, timestamps of individual sessions, the amount of data you use per site, or the IP addresses you are assigned on the internet side. Your private encryption key is created on your phone and never leaves it.
4. Purchases
When you buy Premium you use our billing portal at bill.vpnprox.com. There we hold the details needed for billing: your name, email address, country, invoices and payment records. Payments are processed by the payment provider you choose; we do not receive full card numbers. This billing data is kept separately from the app and is not linked to your VPN activity, because we do not record that activity. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device’s advertising ID, IP address, approximate location and information about ad interactions. This is controlled by Google, not by us; see how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK) the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s Google settings. Premium users see no ads.
6. This website
This website does not use cookies or analytics. It stores your light/dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage, which never leaves your device. Our web host keeps standard server access logs (IP address, page requested, time) for security, normally for [30] days.
7. Legal basis and sharing
We process the data above to provide the service you ask for (contract), to prevent abuse and keep the service secure (legitimate interests), and to meet legal duties such as tax records (legal obligation). We do not sell personal data. We share it only with providers who help us run the service (server hosting, payment processing, email delivery, Google AdMob for ads) and when the law requires us to. Because we do not log activity, we cannot provide information about what a user did while connected.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Email support@vpnprox.com. For app data, include your premium key if you have one so we can find your device record; for billing data, write from the email address on your account. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Children
The service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; important changes will be announced in the app or on this website.
